Forest Stand Improvement

What Is forest stand improvement?

Forest Stand Improvement (FSI) is a common management technique that involves thinning the forest with chainsaws. It is often used in conjunction with other management techniques, such as herbicide application, timber harvesting, hinge-cutting, and/or prescribed burning.  Forest stand improvement techniques greatly improve the wildlife value of a given timber stand and can have a massive impact on the overall ability of your land to grow and hold deer.

"You alone are the Lord.  You made the heavens, even the highest heavens, and all their starry host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them.  You give life to everything, and the multitudes of heaven worship you."
